Our partner Tetrag (tetrag.ch) has supported the Coop cooperative since 1999 in implementing a comprehensive, nationwide energy management system. The MESA system now centrally captures energy data from 889 retail outlets and distribution centers, reading over 12,670 meters every 15 minutes and automatically condensing data into daily, monthly and annual values.
In 2023, 2,104 MWh were saved through heat recovery from cooling units alone. Today, over 90% of all retail outlets are permanently monitored. More than 1,200 cockpits provide detailed insights – particularly into self-consumption of photovoltaic systems and heat recovery efficiency.
